*That awkward moment when you can't remember how to spell "Wednesday"*

I'm now obsessed with One Tree Hill. Completely and definitely. And I'm in love with Jake. He's amazing.
My mom is super awesome - she paid for the overnight shipping for my new memory card so I had it in time for Snow Camp! She's cool... usually ;)
My brother yelling at my sister -- they're playing some Wii Nerf game.
Still totally obsessed with The Civil Wars. And I may now be much of a Taylor Swift fan but... "Safe and Sound"? Most definitely a new favorite.
Did I tell you I finally finished "Jane Eyre"? Well I did -- and it was fantastic. I sighed a big happy sigh at the end. And smiled. And said "That was the gosh darned best book I ever read!" And that is true -- at least in the classic literature department.
Are you totally curious about how many books I've started and not finished, and what those books are? I am. Let's make a list, shall we?
"Immanuel's Veins" - Ted Dekker
"Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25" - Richard Paul Evans
"I Kissed Dating Goodbye" - Joshua Harris
"Wuthering Heights" - Emily Brontë (I actually just started this one yesterday, but what the hay, I'll count it)
"Girl Perfect" - Jennifer Strickland (I only have like 10 pages left, but those pages have been left for two years...)
So that's five - that I can think of. I know there are many more.
I've noticed now that I've somewhat stopped biting my fingernails and they're at a decent length, my hands don't look like they belong to a five year old.
Well, actually they look smaller than they before. Did I ever mention I have tiny little hands? Well, I do.
This part of the post is being written on Thursday. I know you're really confused, wondering why this post has "Wednesday" in the title. Well, it's because this was supposed to be a Wednesday post. But now it's a Thursday post. Because I'm lazy.
Speaking of lazy, I totally accomplished more than I usually do on a given day... but then I was too lazy to go clean at my grandma's... or so laundry... or make no bake cookies... actually I think those no bake cookies still have a good chance of being brought in this world. I'll need a snack for
the premiere of "Awake"!
I felt totally awesome today practicing my piece for Carnegie. That doesn't happen often... but it happened today. And made me happy :)
I'd like to note here that Mozart is awesome -- but Chopin is better.

Seems like I've disappeared for a while - eh, I've just been lazy :P
Actually I was going through a temporary... tech-world fast, I guess you could call it. I've deactivated my Facebook, and I was not getting on the computer anything besides a quick visit to Twitter and Blogger.
Well, that lasted about three days. (Granted, they were the best three days of my life) Now I'm kinda back. In the flow of continuing to rid myself of the computer, I actually became re-addicted - unfortunately. But I'm gonna be super strict with myself this week. I DO NOT NEED THE COMPUTER.
So my mom got herself the new Kindle Fire; what she didn't realize was that everyone else in our family would be using it more than her. 'Tis been one of the reasons my riddance of technology didn't work this week...
But, something good did come of it - I re-found Pandora, created "The Civil Wars" station, and have found so much awesome music, it's ridiculous.
I'm still reading "Jane Eyre". It's probably one of the best pieces of romantic literature I've ever read.
Starting like two days ago I've been trying to eat healthier - I don't really eat the best, and I can totally feel the effects it's having on me. So we'll see if I can keep this up (Dad ordering from Pizza Hut this evening didn't really help); I did happen to see Kashi cereals on sale at Weis though! ;)
That awkward moment when you realize that High School Musical isn't so bad the 17th time around - and is most definitely not as bad as every other Disney Channel movie made in the past five years. Of course nothing beats the old school Disney Channel movies - Zenon, Smart House, Horse Sense, The Even Stevens Movie... you get the idea :)
It's not a coincidence that I happen to love this girl. She super smart, (College at 16? Only the homeschooled ;) wears the most unique clothes, (They look adorable too!) and she can sing like nobody's business! I found her through an article from SUSIE Magazine a few years ago - before she was signed to Gotee Records! I started watching her Youtube videos and was amazed. And would you believe that I saw the video in which she revealed her brand new Daisy Rock guitar? (In the picture above)
But maybe you know who Jamie-Grace is. You've heard her on the radio, like her songs. Sure - she's pretty cool.
But have you ever watched some of her covers on Youtube?
My oh my.
If you have not heard Jamie-Grace sing live and unedited, you have no idea what you're missing!
And she once replied to one of comments on Youtube. Oh yes. I am that special ;)
I saw her this past summer on Creation Fest. I was quite excited... just pushed up to the front and dancing excited...
Oh yes, TobyMac did just so happen to come out for "Hold Me" :D
And her parents were being super awesome - they were in the crowd with everyone! Unfortunately they were opposite the side I was on.
I just think it's cool that, after being diagnosed with Tourette syndrome, she decided to use her gifts for God. Just random videos; short vlogs, covers of favorite songs, medleys. And look where God has put her now!
Oh yea, and she was in a Julian Smith video. (Yea. I was amazed too.)
So you want some music from a cool, God-centered girl with a spectacular voice?
Look no further than Jamie-Grace.

Okay, so I don't know how I did not see this video until now but... wow.
Oh yea, and this is probably one of my favorites - EVER.

The other day I had this weird
impulse to read some literature (I think it had to do with the smell of old
books surrounding me. Sometimes I wonder if people ever spike books...). To the
bookshelf I went and after browsing for a while I discovered Of Mice and Men.
I've always wanted to read it, just to know what it's about, so I said what the
hay and read it in two hours (which is a bit embarrassing since it's only 100
pages long.).
So it's a depressing book. But not
totally as depressing as what I thought. It's depressing for the obvious
reason, of course, there's something much deeper there that made me think. I
almost felt like it was a story that could've happened any day, every day.
There didn't seem to be any huge moral point or really any point at all. It was
just a story about two guys trying to make their way during the Depression.
They could have been any men you saw walking down the street. All they wanted
was a better life - and they almost got it.
Anyway, I discovered while reading
the little prelude on John Steinbeck that he also wrote East of Eden. I've seen
the movie (James Dean. I HAD to, obviously.) and thought it was pretty good
(mostly because of James Dean), so I ran to the library to borrow it.
I was unaware that East of Eden by
John Steinbeck was 601 pages long. And not small juvenile fiction pages. So
I've been attempting to read 50 pages a day. It's not actually been that
difficult because the story's very interesting - but it's not what I expected.
The book is divided into several
parts and the movie apparently omitted at the least the first part so this has
been like reading a totally different book - which is awesome.
It's a bit dark, in some aspects,
but it totally reveals the author, and that's something I've never so
explicitly observed in a book.
So I'll let y'all know how it is
when I finish :)
I've found something. A TV show. A
slightly old TV show. A TV show that really shouldn't be old, but is, which
makes me feel old.
One Tree Hill.
OK, so it's still airing. But I'm talking old school, 2003 One Tree Hill.
Yea. I never watched these shows because I was... 8 when the show started. But
I think just growing up in that era, you find yourself loving the shows of that
time (i.e., the early 2000's). So I randomly started watching is on Netflix,
fell in love with Chad Michael Murray, and... I'm addicted. Just like that. My
parents should be happy I don't dabble in anything worse than TV shows with my
addictive personality... then again, maybe TV shows are worse...
Naahhh!!!
I also had the wonderful experience of gluing styrofoam peanuts to my
eyebrows*, being on TV, and embarrassing my sister's best by dancing to
"Forever" in the middle of the street - and singing along.
