A Word To the Bridesmaids

I start this with my own experience and the stories of others in mind. I am currently in the honorary position of a bridesmaid for the first time in my life, and this after having already been the bride. I want to share my thoughts on bridesmaid Do’s and Don’t’s from both sides. As a bride, I can tell you what my bridesmaids did that was helpful, that was unhelpful, and what I would have liked them to have done more of. I’ll share with you a bit of what the bride feels during the engagement time, if you don’t already know, and I’ll tell you what I think will be best for you to keep in mind.
1.       Do give as much physical assistance as needed.
I don’t think any bride will ever say her bridesmaids did too much work when it came to her wedding day. Be asking what you can do, and make yourself available for as much of it as you can. Especially if there are a lot of DIY projects going on, the bride will always be happy to have extra hands to help out. I had plenty of projects that went on until the late hours of the night, and few of them actually came to fruition, just because I ran out of time and willing hands to get it all done. No matter how small the project, no matter how much hot glue gets pasted to your hands, it will be greatly appreciated, and will make the work go by faster, as well as make it more fun!
2.       Don’t overwhelm the bride with YOUR ideas.
I’ll admit, I needed as much help as I could get in the idea department, and I came up very shorthanded. But more often than not, instead of offering suggestions that go along with a bride’s theme or wedding dream, bridesmaids can say what THEY think would look good and how THEY think the bride should do things. If the bride is gracious, but firm in her thinking, she’ll nicely tell her bridesmaids that’s not what she wants and that’ll be that. Of course there’s the drama of girls being hurt over their suggestions being shot down, but that’s a whole other can of beans. Some brides will feel trampled on and will easily give in to other ideas. To avoid this whole catastrophe, I suggest working on this: be helpful and suggest ideas, but try to only verbalize thoughts that connect to the bride’s plan. You want to help the bride’s dream wedding come into reality, and you can truly help with that! But if she’s going more traditional and you’re suggesting hot pink table cloths with glitter on everything, it won’t be very helpful. Do your best to branch off of her plans and give suggestions for details, for how to better accomplish something. We’ve all been gifted differently, and you may have a more inexpensive and less laborious way of putting those centerpieces together – vocalize your idea! And even more importantly – don’t be offended if your idea isn’t used. You’re here to help. If you’re one of six bridesmaids, chances are, not all the ideas offered will be used. This isn’t about you, it’s about helping your girl out! Be glad when she uses something you suggest, but be humble and not pitiful when your idea doesn’t work out.
3.       Respect her time with her man.
If I could say anything about being engaged, it’s this: you ALWAYS want time with your guy, and with the mounting stress of getting married, you probably won’t be able to part with him for more than a few hours. Not really, but pretty close. I’m gonna address this a little better later, specifically looking at single girls and helping them better understand having a close friend in a relationship, but for now, I’ll leave it at this. It’s nothing personal, but sometimes, the bride is going to simply want some alone time with her husband-to-be, and you will have to respect that. I understand that you’ve been best friends since you were two years old, and you’ve never spent more than that week you were both on separate family vacations apart from each other. But things are gonna change, if you haven’t realized that by now. Sometimes the best cure for wedding stress is some time away from all that estrogen, and a relaxing evening with her man, remembering the reason she’s undergoing all this work.
4.       Pray for her.
Pray after you leave her for the night. Pray on your way to work, Pray with her when you see she’s overwhelmed to the point of tears. Engaged couples covet your prayers something fierce, and if there’s one thing you can do to help, it’s to ask the greatest One there is to bring peace and strength to that couple.
I know that these points will vary from bride to bride. Some women may want you to give them every possible idea you’ve got! Some will need more emotional support. Some will want distance, but more hands-on help. You know your girl, and you know how you can best help her. If you’re at a loss, pray for her. This is a stressful time on her, on her relationship with her fiancĂ©, even on her friendship with you. You need to understand that and help her. Be somebody she can go to for advice, or just be there so she can hand a project off to you so she can unwind with her man. You may feel underappreciated, but trust me, when the big day is over, and she’s back from her honeymoon, she’ll see all that you’ve done, and it will be greatly appreciated! A few more points and I’ll be done.
To the Maid of Honor. You have one of the biggest responsibilities. And you may not be told that, and you may not realize it, which is why you have to take the initiative to step up and take charge. Not of the wedding, of course, but of helping distribute the tasks to the other bridesmaids and making sure you all act as the bride’s minions in getting all of her evil doings done! If she has a to-do list thirty items long, ask what you can take care of. Make the phone calls to confirm reservations and vendors. Call the store to find out of price of those champagne flutes. There are a lot of little things that get overlooked by those helping, but sometimes, those little things are the biggest help. If you’re not so good at organizing and planning, and you’re more the creative type, use your gift and help create some masterpieces! Do your best to be as helpful and underwhelming as possible. Go over your ideas with the bride, and if she gives you the OK, DO ALL THE CRAFTS. Know how you can complement the bride’s personality with your own. If she’s more creative and dreamy, but you’re a planner, maybe suggest making up a checklist WITH her. Help organize her dreams and make them possible!

I hope this all makes sense. Remember everyone’s person is a unique individual and will require different help. What may have helped me may not be as helpful to another bride. But if you can remember to be as selfless and serving as possible, you will make the bride’s wedding a dream come true, and that’s something to be proud of!

We've Got a Ringer!

The latest item I've checked off my wedding checklist is the shopping for and purchasing of our wedding bands. Tad was quick and easy. He's spent months joyfully browsing through his options (simple, unique, antler, bone, wood, dinosaur fossil - no, I'm not kidding. They exist.). I on the other hand have been a bit preoccupied with what I consider more important wedding details (i.e. finding a wedding photographer for under $1,000. I did it, believe it or not!). The nights we'd spend browsing Google and Pinterest for wedding band ideas generally left Tad excited and me, well, confused and overwhelmed.
I'm not a glitzy gal, I'll admit, but I like some sparkle every now and again. I'm still surprised with how perfectly my engagement ring suits me - 10 points to Thaddeus ;) I decided I would really love a band with some bling; specifically the half band of stones, possibly alternating between diamonds and rubies (which are our birthstone AND the month we'll be getting married in. Triple bonus points to me!). Unfortunately, sparkle costs moolah, and I certainly didn't feel like making my poor husband-to-be pay for a band that would take years to pay off, especially when he's still working on the last piece of jewelry he bought me.
So Tad and I decided we would save the glitz for a one-year anniversary gift, which suited me fine. I get what I want, but later on, which I find more exhilarating than getting all the good stuff on one day. Still unsure of what I wanted, we headed to the jeweler's. Tad looked at the few choices he had narrowed down to and within a few minutes picked out the roughest, toughest ring that would last him through his job, was comfortable, and still looked as cool as he wanted it to. I had decided I wanted a simple band, but wasn't sure what. The girl helping us quickly showed me what I thought to be a brilliant, albeit obvious, answer to my plight for wanting something simple yet still a bit unique. She asked if I wanted something to go with my engagement ring, to which I responded enthusiastically, "Yes!" She pulled out a white gold band with a slight twist and curve to it. She told me how they could shape a band to fit around one side of my engagement ring, and I was sold! I requested a slightly thicker band, as my engagement ring has a very slender one, and white gold wears fairly quickly. They simply ordered the band, and when it comes in, they'll take my ring for a few days to shape my band!
All done. So simple. I think we were there for a total of 15 minutes.
Here are my suggestions for finding the perfect wedding band (if your ring didn't already come in a set):
  • Google. Google and Pinterest. See what's out there. Get an idea. There were so many more options then I ever thought there would be! Both Tad and I are getting a fancier ring that appeals to our more artistic and unique sides as a one-year anniversary gift, and going with the more practical more our everyday band. I like how because my band will be so simple, I'll be able to wear it with my engagement ring for some prettiness without being blinded. Tad went with Tungsten, which is very durable, and quite pretty too :)
  • Talk with your jeweler. Wherever you or your man got your ring, go talk with them. They'll be helpful and give you a lowdown on your options. I always suggest going local, to help with those smaller businesses. I also think you're less likely to get skeezed that way.
  • Know your limits and work within them. Tad and I decided that a dozen diamonds were gonna be a bit much at this point. We were both willing to compromise, and we're both very happy with our decisions!
  • Remember, diamonds don't come above a grade D. Anybody who tries to sell you a grade A, B, or C diamond is lying to you. They don't exist. Grade D is as good as it gets, and D's are basically what you'll find at Tiffany's. The difference between D's and E's are tens of thousands of dollars, but the visible differences are impossible to notice unless you're a jeweler with his fancy diamond equipment.
Here's to hoping you fulfill your girlish fantasies for your wedding, and love your husband-to-be in the process.

Valentine's Day - 2014

Generally, I'm not one to give a rip about 2/14.
Well, actually, it's always been my favorite holiday. But that's beside the point.
This year, though, I just so happened to not be single, and I was able to enjoy the Day of Love with my wonderful fiancè!

 photo 0fa47808-a0d6-4860-9b93-6296c3085abb_zps5db6c273.jpg

Oh, did I not mention that I'm engaged?
Yep.

 photo df4791f7-5f6c-4cbf-90c1-8d79a7b46721_zpsb44c6566.jpg

That rock has been on my finger for a month and two days so far. I even notice when it's not there now, which is pretty awesome.
Not that you can tell from that beautiful phone picture, but there are 37 diamonds on my ring. Yeah. He done good.

This was my first Valentine's Day in a relationship, an engaged relationship as a matter of fact, and it seems to me like what you envision is never quite what happens in reality. I think our culture and Hollywood seem to make Valentine's Day a fantastical daydream that's surrounded with hearts, teddy bears and chocolates.
Granted, the chocolates are nice. I was thoroughly pleased that Tad got me chocolate. I'm totally fine with chocolate.
I'll admit that I over-romanticized our little date last night. For as logical and un-emotive (I do NOT prefer emotionally-challenged) a person as I am, I'm still a girl. An eighteen-year-old, slight romantic, who does, on rare occasion, fantasize about flowers and poetry. My man, being the busy one that he is, can't always deliver what I desire (Though, for his sake, I'll say he is one heck of a romantic and can write me love letters like nobody's business.). Sometimes I get my hopes up and expect a ravishing candlelit dinner with roses galore and a five-page poem entitled, "101 Reasons Why I'm In Love With Emily".
As lovely as those out-of-the-ordinary displays of affection are, I think know I take for granted that constant, deep, dare I say, supernatural love that we have for one another. I don't need to make Tad a steak and shrimp dinner, a kiwi and raspberry fruit tart (more to be said on that), and massage his aching feet for him to know that I love him. And he doesn't have to write me daily love letters and put aside hours every day to spend time with me in order for me to know that he loves me - though admittedly, I can make it feel that way sometimes.
No, Tad and I have been blessed with something deeper than silly little infatuated affections. We've been given a deep love for one another. Our commitment to one another stems from our commitment to Christ. We've devoted ourselves to our Creator, to serve and glorify Him, and now, we've chosen to reflect that devotion through marriage. We can spend whatever leftover hours of the evening we have, cooking up a hodge-podge meal that doesn't get done till 9:30, and then just snuggle and relax on the couch while watching "Silent Hill" (NOT my idea) and "Resident Evil". Our love is not dependent on that temporary romantic feeling we had back in May. Our love is dependent on our commitment to one another and the strength our Lord and Savior gives us to serve and love each another in every moment. It is by God's grace we take on the responsibility of caring for another Soul, and it is by God's grace that we are privileged to see them through to the end.

"So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.  For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."
2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Beloved

Don't you just love those days when the sun is shining down on this little planet; the birds are singing beautiful melodies with unknown lyrics; the sky is so blue, you wonder how anyone could ever deny God's existence?
Today was one of those days.

Photobucket

I've been thinking recently. That's generally not a good thing, but what can one do?

Photobucket

Romance has been on my mind. It's a strange thing - that it has been on my mind, and also the idea itself.
I've been reading too much romantic literature (Jane Eyre♥)

Photobucket

I sometimes think Pride & Prejudice is a bit over-rated. Nobody gives dear Jane a chance when compared to Miss Elizabeth.
I find Jane's story much more interesting - full of mystery. She's such a lonely soul, trying to convince herself the love she has cannot be.
Forbidden love.
Romantic, right?

Photobucket

Sometimes I feel like dear Jane. So inferior to other more beautiful, intelligent, charming ladies.

Photobucket
I get frustrated with myself. I want to not worry about my relationship status; whether I get married or not; if I'll be single for the rest of my life.
I want to be completely dedicated to serving God, first and foremost. I want Him to matter, not some guy's opinion of me.

Photobucket

But I don't always feel that way. I want a guy to smile at me, tell me I'm beautiful, treat me like a precious treasure.

Photobucket

But I already have Someone who does all those things.
Sometimes I forget all that He does for me.

Photobucket

Maybe one day God will send me my own Mr. Rochester (or Mr. Darby, if you must ;).
But until then, I want to be completely satisfied with God. I want Him to reign supreme. I want to trust in His perfect will for my life, whether that involves a husband or not.

Photobucket

Sometimes I think about romance, getting married, being in love.

Photobucket

But I always remember my true Love.

Make someone proud

Tumblr_lxym4wyj8m1qmwbovo1_500_large

So that article above? Shoes. Finding an adorable pair of shoes that you think are just what you want. They're not in your size, but you decide to squeeze a half size smaller. Wearing them to school the next day results in blisters and the threat of toe amputation. Of course once you take them off you feel free again! But there's nothing you can do to make the shoes fit. They won't grow to fit you, and they cost you money and the ability to walk for the next week.
Thankfully, I have a rule that states I shall never buy shoes if they cut off the circulation to my toes (this of course didn't keep me from buying Chucks in a 7 1/2 just because the 8's made me look like I had clown feet). Sometimes what looks cute just doesn't fit. And it won't change to fit you. Of course if you looked around long enough you'd probably find your dream shoes that are cute and fit you perfectly! And this is where the main point comes in - guys are kinda like shoes. You shouldn't settle for one just because he's cute. If you do, you'll obviously end up with blistered feet! God made you unique and He also has the perfect somebody picked out for you! And if you wait, that dream guy will not only be perfect for you, but he'll seem more attractive because of it!

Ya know, if you were to make a list describing Mr. Dreamy, you may know when you're settling for less. But once you have that list, you can't just change the list here and there later on to fit a guy. Either the guy fits the list, or he's out of here! A list for the guy God wants you have is what you're aiming for. Those qualities that will make him husband material. Unfortunately, Satan, the world, likes to tell us we're unworthy of such a perfect guy, or imagining that he even exists. Well, you are not unworthy - God wants the best for you! And He has the best for you, if you'll just be patient and wait.
And you know what? You're life doesn't have to revolve around dating! The world may say so, but it's not true! Now if the perfect time to not worry about it! The article gives 5 things you can focus on now instead of guys. I'll list them:

     1. Discover who you are.

     2. Workout your spiritual muscles.

     3. Become a good student.

     4. Strengthen your friendships.

     5. Go on a missions trip. (Never The Same)

And as you're waiting for Mr. Right, don't compromise on other guys. Trust God. Only He can write your perfect love story. It's okay to not be dating! Wait for God's timing.

Makes Me Happy

First off, I found some really inspirational stuff over at Love Awakened. Check it out here!

I got through another piano recital today! It's funny, I never realized how stressful these things can be for the teachers. One teacher was probably more nervous than her student! She had her eyes closed and I could see her mentally playing through the song as her student played on stage.
Before the recital started I was given the job of keeping a young girl calm. Apparently she gets extremely nervous before recitals (which I wasn't aware of until after the recital). She actually seemed pretty chill, but I was there talking to her about my nine-page song and how I've forgotten my piece before and how nervous I get. Which, thinking about it now, probably wasn't so encouraging, but I was telling her that since this was just a normal recital and we weren't being judged, it didn't matter if we messed up or forgot, because most people probably wouldn't notice (which may have been a lie because I'm sure some people may figure it out. But she didn't need to know that :p). Anyway, she performed before me and from, what I could tell, played her piece almost perfectly! I found out later that at her last recital she was in tears she was so nervous! I'd like to think I contributed to her doing awesome today at the recital, but I think it was God's grace helping out two little children today. (I didn't spazz out before I played! I think the little girl helped calm me down ;)
I also saw the most talented little pianist I've ever bore witness to. She couldn't have been any older than seven, and she was amazing. I think she was better than me, and I've been playing for eleven years!

I also stopped at Cinnabon with my mom on the way home and we shared some cinnamonny deliciousness! She also bought me a pair of MukLuks for Christmas, but I have to forget about them before then (shhh... it's a surprise!).

Tomorrow is just more piano and school! Too bad the weekends aren't longer :\

The Romance of Then

I watched Breakfast At Tiffany's today. Can I first say that this movie is just spectacular?! I love Audrey Hepburn. I adore Audrey Hepburn. She is and always will be my favorite actress. She has such class about her, and is so feminine, but can still keep that funny, girlish charm about her. She didn't have the curvy body desired by most actresses back then. Her childhood was hard. But she's just so.... amazing.
Anyway, back on to the movie... It's a bit complicated. It's not a simple "two loners fall in love the end"-type romance. There's so much more to it.
Besides the amazing story, highlights of this movie?
  • George Peppard's eyes. GUSH
  • George Peppard.
  • One of the most romantic movie kisses to date.

via
  • Many fantastic quotes:
Mag Wildwood: You know what's gonna happen to you? I am gonna march you over to the zoo and feed you to the yak.

Holly Golightly: I'll tell you one thing, Fred, darling... I'd marry you for your money in a minute. Would you marry me for my money?
Paul Varjak: In a minute.
Holly Golightly: I guess it's pretty lucky neither of us is rich, huh?
Paul Varjak: Yeah.

Holly Golightly: Thursday! It can't be! It's too gruesome!
Paul Varjak: What's so gruesome about Thursday?
Holly Golightly: Nothing, except I can never remember when it's coming up.
  • Mr. Yunioshi (played by Mickey Rooney)... oh my...
I'll admit, first time I saw this movie, I wasn't hooked. I was younger... shorter attention span... etc... but man oh man. This is definitely one of my favorite movies.
So after feeling the need to binge on Classic movies of times past, I decided to watch Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Now that was a complicated movie. A bit like a soap opera with the whole season boiled down to 2 hours. With no change of scenery. I got slightly confused through it (this might have been because my concentration was split between spider solitaire...), but the ending was... I don't know. Awesome. I can't really think of how to describe it because it was a mixture of a bunch of things. This movie definitely got into some deep stuff. It was like 2 hours worth of Oprah. But better. And having never seen a Paul Newman movie, or really ever heard of him... man, am I glad I watched this. There is a reason he's known for his eyes. I mean... I've NEVER seen eyes more perfectly blue than his. Wow.
I mean, those things aren't even photo-shopped. One more... for good measure.
via
Excuse me while I try and remember how to breathe...
   Okay. I'm good.

Of course I have a billion other obsessions related to the 50's and 60's.
  • James Dean (yes I do have an obsession with him and there's nothing you could say to change my mind.)

via
  • The Nutty Professor. Few times do you have the chance to see Jerry Lewis all suave and manly. Honestly, most people probably don't even know he has a suave and manly side...
 via
  • Charade. One of my favorite movies. Ever. Combines Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant, throws in some mystery, romance, and comedy; voila! Perfect movie!
  • It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World. I love this movie. Gotta love Mickey Rooney :p
I could go on all night. But I'll stop here. Check out some of these movies if you'd like. They're some of my favorites, and I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Thinking About You...

So yesterday was spent doing school and babysitting two sweet girls with my sister. Not too difficult since they are 9 and 5 years old (although they kept on taking Capri Sun when I SPECIFICALLY TOLD THEM to NOT... stay calm, Emily...). Unfortunately, it rained all day, but that didn't stop us from taking a walk (actually, everyone but me decided on this. I was at the time hiding, as we were playing hide and seek, and nobody found me. So they just decided to give up and leave me by myself. 15 minutes later, I decided that watching the children might be smarter than winning a game of hide and seek...). We watched "Rio", which was actually a really good movie. And then...
My bracelet. BROKE.
And this is not just any bracelet. This bracelet was given to me by my friend, a gift from her trip to Africa when she was 9. She's now in Germany until Christmas and I sort of vowed to wear it until her return.
It. BROKE.
So it is now in a plastic baggy on my dresser. I'm still deciding on what to do with the beads...
That brings us to today. Some school, though not as much as I should've done (a result of my not being able to wake up before 8am lately). A nice adjustment at the chiropractor, and...
An extreme haircut.
Now most of you have never really seen my hair. Let me show you what my hair was previously like:
Please ignore the fact that this picture was taken in front of my sister's messy side of the room, and with me still in my PJs, without makeup, etc.,etc... but on the bright side, my hair looks fantastic for just waking up ;)
Well, every other year or so, after my hair has gotten pretty long, I cut it off and donate it to Locks of Love (because in all honesty, what do I really need my hair for? It's honestly just a huge inconvenience... and sometimes a source of vanity... *cough*). Well this was my year. And since the babysitting job mentioned above was for my hair stylist's girls, in payment she offered a free hair cut. So I went today to get it cut.
My plan was to cut off the required 10 inches and go from there. I had to it cut in her kitchen, without a mirror, so I didn't actually know what it looked like until she was done. So after her and my mom deciding where to cut my hair off at, she snipped it all off. I tried to give her some idea of what I wanted, even though I couldn't see what she was doing. But my mom was inspired after the main part was cut off. All of a sudden she was like "Oh! You should make it look like Rapunzel [from Tangled] after she cuts her hair off!" Well, I had to just trust her and my hair stylist to make me look not hideous. And after tons of snips, cuts, a few suggestions from me, more from my mom, and some styling... I was done. And in all honesty, it did look a LOT like Rapunzel's at the end of the movie. It really wasn't anything I had thought of, and the volume of my hair freaked me out at first. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture right after it was done, and it was raining when we left (we'll get to more on that momentarily), so my hair got slightly un-styled. Which I like better than the original, but you can't see the total Rapunzel effect.
So yea. That's it. I keep on changing my opinion on my bangs. Sometimes I would've liked them short. And other times, I like them longer. But whatever. I'm excited about trying new things out with my hair.
The only bag thing about my hair, is that I JUST had a softball practice scheduled for this Saturday... and my hair isn't long enough to put in a ponytail... which isn't a completely horrible thing. There's ways to get around it. I just don't like the non-ponytail look for sports. I guess I'll have to make do.
So. The rain. It's been raining for 3 days straight with few stops in between. It just keeps going. It's supposed to be like this till the end of the week too. There are flood warning, flood watches, and other flood related warnings for our county, plus we are apparently in a state of emergency (I found this out via Facebook. Which is a bit sad). So no school for my town tomorrow (except for us darn homeschoolers... dang...). The flooding is already ridiculous. But 3 more days of this? We will all be living on boats and kayaks by then. Even me (and I'm not even in any danger of flooding).
Yea. That's gonna be us.
Okay. So I finished reading "Lunatic" today. It was
AHH-MAAZING.
I stopped at the library today and got "Elyon" and I. Am. Stoked. I cannot wait read it! Then I'll only have 2 1/2 more Ted Dekker books to read and then I will have read them all! MUAHAHAHA.
Yea. So after finishing "Lunatic", I decided to reminisce on past Circle times. I grabbed my Circle Series graphic novel off the shelf (yes, I am so obsessed with him that I buy the graphic novels), opened it up, and started reading. I didn't get very far before a statement from Michal got me thinking:
Thomas is talking to Michal about Rachelle's choosing him (this is obviously right after he first arrives in middle)...
Michal: Staying with Rachelle's family will help you remember.
Thomas: Rachelle? The woman who chose me?
Michal: Yes, it's all part of the Great Romance.
Thomas: Wait a minute, I don't even know her...
Michal: Follow your instincts until your memory returns. If you have to, pretend. Surely you can pretend to be in love.
Thomas: What if I don't want to be in love?
Michal: Of course you want to be in love. You're human.
Now apart from this having the obvious romantic meaning, something else hit me when I read that.
"Of course you want to be in love. You're human." For Michal, it's kind of a "duh" moment. Well, of course Thomas would want to be in love. He's human!
Isn't this the desire at the core of every human being? Not just the romantic love with all the candy and hearts and roses. There's a desire at the very core of our being that desires love. To be in love. To be in love with Someone extraordinary. And perfect. Elyon. God.
When we were created, God put that desire in our heart and soul. A desire only He could fill. And though we don't always realize it, I think we spend almost every waking moment trying to fill that desire. But we don't always know how. We fill it up with a temporary relationship, material things, all the things that can't fill us. We were made for a love relationship. A romance so great and wonderful, there's only one person who could completely fill you and give you the most out of it. God.
Sorry if I'm not coming off completely coherent. As I started writing this, I realized that I had no idea how to put my thoughts into words (as usual). But I hope you can somewhat see my point. We are meant to be love. It's in our being, in our design. There's something so much bigger out there for us. Something more than just a boyfriend that will last a few weeks. Something more than just kisses and hugs. Something so deep, personal, magnificent. There's a love relationship just waiting for us. Waiting! For us! As we're running around trying to figure out how to fill that hole by shoving useless things in the void, the filling is just sitting there right in front of us! Waiting. Begging us to come and see what He has to offer. Wanting to show of the fulfillment and joy in Him. The healing and peace.
So yea. Hope that made sense. My brain isn't completely functioning today (well, it's never COMPLETELY functioning, but you understand), but hopefully a few things came across in an understandable way.
So happy Wednesday, and have a blessed and un-rainy week!
Cheers♥
