And while we're on the subject of softball (though I don't think I've mentioned it, that IS the sport I play. And I like it.), yesterday - being Sunday - whilst warming up our pitcher (the same one who hit in the winning RBI tonight) during practice, she decided to throw a curve ball which did not curve, but rather, it dropped. Into my thigh. Which most people find horrible but I got a really cool bruise. So I'm gonna show it off.
It hasn't quite gotten to the cool rainbow stage, but it still looks pretty awesome. Hope I didn't gross you out, but I think it's cool, once you get past the whole pain thing and the fact that I can't even touch without dancing that a mad person.
Now on to more interesting stuff then my physical ailments. The Office. This is a television show I watch. This is a television show I enjoy. If you have not seen this show, I pity you. And you will not get most of what I'm going to say. So I just watched the episode "The Last Dundies" (hence my post title). Michael Scott is leaving the office (Steve Carell is leaving The Office.). So this episode was on The Dundies, the last ones Michael will ever do *insert pathetic weeping here*. This was a somewhat depressing episode, especially when everyone started singing about past occurrences. So, in honor of the almost last episode of The Office with Steve Carell, I will post my favorite quotes from this episode.
"Okay, okay, everyone's right. They're like bread sticks on steroids." ~ Michael Scott (this sort of needs some context but it's a bit hard to explain. Essentially, everyone was discussing the amazing bread sticks at a restaurant and were using different expressions to describe their amazingness.)
"Always the padawan, never the jedi." ~ Dwight Schrute (this is after Michael names whoever Will Farrell's character is, the co-host of the Dundies.)
"This is my last Dundies ever. If I want mind-control over him, is that too much to ask?" ~ Michael Scott (while others are arguing that he can't control what Will Farrell's character is thinking)
"Toby Flenderson, please come up here and accept the Extreme-Repulsiveness Award." ~ Will Farrell's character, although Michael made up the award (Michael hates Toby. No one knows why. But he does.)
Though these are probably not very humorous things to you all, watched in context with the story, they're pretty funny.
Moving on, I discovered something amazing Sunday morning. Now, I'm not a super crafty person, but I did something awesome. I turned a plain, black headband in a cute, pink flowered headband! I feel so proud of myself! *sniffle* What did I do? I wrapped a ribbon around the headband and hot-glued the ends. Yup. I'm amazing. Although I did have to ask my sister how to use the hot glue gun. "Maddy, how do you turn it on?" "Plug it in." "Oh."
How beautiful!
Kind of a bad picture
Bad picture, but you can sort of see the end
And this beautiful thing on my gorgeous head ;]
So isn't that lovely? Yes, yes it is.
One last thing... I'm almost done with Green!!! This is the book I've been reading for about 4 months. I haven't had anytime to read it, but now, only 56 pages to go! For you non-readers this may seem like a lot, But 56 pages is like 30 minute reading material to me. Easy. And one quote from it I love while Thomas is in Elyon's lake:
There was nothing else that could possibly matter other than to hold the hand of the one who'd formed you with his breath.
*Sigh* Ted Dekker is amazing. And after I finish this I can finally get Lunatic, Elyon, and The Bride Collector from the library! And after I finish all the History of Chronicles books, I'm gonna go back through and read them all again, to see what I missed. Because you can never get enough of Ted Dekker.
Cheers.
