Happy Tuesday, everyone! Hope it went well for you all. I now officially have only one chemistry class left, and then, I will be done. Forever. I am quite psyched! Chemistry is not my favorite thing in the world.
But you know what is?
Rain. And Rainbows. I like how the two go together so perfectly. Now I love rain, but I know some of you find it depressing. But no matter how you see the rain, I think most people would agree that rainbows are absolutely lovely! It's physical proof of a promise made thousands of years ago. It's proof that God's still keeps his promises, even when they were made that long ago. It's proof that God is worthy of our trust. It's proof that when all else fails, God is there, unfailing, waiting for us with open arms.
But I'm getting off track.
So today, day two of week one of the "Secret Keeper Devos." This devo was a bit of an echo of yesterday's reading. I read Psalm 42:1-6 (yup, go ahead and read it for yourself!). It starts off once again on wilted spirits. And you know what it says about them?
It's okay to have a wilted spirit. It's okay to be thirsty.
But what's not okay is trying to quench your thirst with clothing, relationships, shopping, maybe sneaking a brownie or two... (I admit, I'm guilty of this. Sometimes no-bake cookies seem like the answer to life's heartaches ;)
Do you know why it's okay to be thirsty? It drives us to go deep. To dive into God's presence. It drives us to Him. If we're thirsty enough, we can ignore the lies of this world, pay no attention to what the world says we must fill that hole in our soul with. We can find the true Source that quenches our thirst. It will dare us to go deep into his word. Sometimes when we're that thirsty it's easier for us to see some important truths in God's Word. But that's just my two cents. A bit of a repeat of yesterday's post, but it's important!
Now, just in case you were keeping tabs on my softball life (because I'm sure you're terribly interested in it ;), we ended up having to play a game today for the Division Title. Which was dumb since we were told we wouldn't have to play a game, but we did. So we played Dallas today. And lost. 3-4. We had to play on a neutral field since our record is the same, and of all the fields around us, they chose what I am pretty sure is the crappiest of all fields I've ever played on in my life. There was a crater next to first base that was a good 4 inches deep. And it wasn't just one. There was a huge one next to second, three or four on your way to first base, the pitcher's circle got hit by a meteor I'm pretty sure. We actually petitioned for a different field, but Dallas's bus left and they didn't have a way to get back to our field. We offered them a ride. I guess they declined. Thankfully, some people found some nearby dirt and were able to somewhat fix the field. Could've been worse. So we are the # 3 seed in the conference and will play Holy Redeemer tomorrow. Anyway, that's how that is going.
So tomorrow consists of school, game against Redeemer, and CLEAR. Exciting, right? ;]
I just with you an awesome song. I always listen to music when I blog (usually Air1 on iTunes. Sadly, the station doesn't come in around here, so I can only listen to it on iTunes) and "Galaxies" by Owl City came on a few minutes ago. It's extremely catchy, and it's just such a simple story of God's saving grace. Nothing amazing, just like everyone's story, but still so powerful. I love it :]
So fall in love with this song like I did, and enjoy the lyrics!
Enjoy the end of your Tuesday, and keep those in Missouri and everyone who has been hit by the tornadoes this month, in your prayers!
Cheers ♥
