Time just seems to rush by doesn't it? Yesterday was my little bro's 10th birthday! It seems like every year he gets bigger. Weird, huh? So he was made a homemade ice cream cake, of course, with the ice cream of his choosing. You can do the same!
Just grab some Oreos, ice cream, and Cool Whip. Crush the Oreos up real good and place them in the bottom of a 13x9 pan (you can mix butter in with them to make them stick together, but they stick to the ice cream anyway, so I never use the butter). Place about 2 cartons of your favorite ice cream (both the same, or different flavors! My brother chose Banana Split and Chocolate Marshmallow. I've found sherbet can work too!) over the crushed Oreo bottom, making it all even, than spread Cool Whip over the top, and voila! Easy ice cream cake! And you can always decorate however you see fit, use any type or flavor of Oreos, and make it your own! One year my sister chose Golden Oreos and rainbow sherbet... it was DELICIOUS! So experiment!
I feel really bad about this, but I made myself a waffle ice cream sandwich for breakfast. (fatty) I know, I'm so horrible, but leftover ice cream cake combined with confetti toaster waffles makes for a delicious treat, and I just couldn't resist! (no will-power)
The weather has been absolutely beautiful the past few days! After all this rain, resulting in historic, record-breaking flooding in my town, it has recently been mid-70's, slightly breezy, and completely sunshiney! Minus a 10 minutes period yesterday when it just had to rain during my run. And it did not just rain, my friends. It poured. Not cool. I almost drowned from inhaling falling water. I like running in the rain, but not when it becomes hazardous to my life.
Today was another gorgeous day and I went outside and relaxed, swinging on the swing set. My dog tried to eat passersby, but did not succeed since my genius brain thought to tie her to a tree. Unfortunately, she was not aware of this and almost broke her neck trying to attack the bicyclists. It made my day when I left my swing to grab her chain on the other side of the tree and she didn't see me leave. And as I'm there hidden behind the tree, she turns and comes bounding up to the swing and just stares at it, looking extremely confused and puzzled. She didn't know we were playing Hide and Seek.
Another incident, when I was walking through my yard: I heard some loud rustling in the bushes nearby. It was definitely some wild animal, probably on the large side, and possibly with defensive abilities. I of course went to check it out. Keeping my distance, I sneaked around to the other side of the bush and screamed!
It was a chicken.
I didn't actually scream. But I should've known better. For those of you who do not live near of frequently enter wooded areas, if there is an animal worthy of your fear nearby, you will more than likely not hear it. The noisiest animals and always the small, annoying ones. A bobcat, skunk, lion, tiger, whatever, will probably make virtually zero noise. Squirrels are some of the loudest little creatures, so be assured that if you hear big, loud, crunching steps behind you, it's probably a chipmunk. Of course the downfall to this fact is that anything that might eat you will have the element of surprise and you probably won't survive. Sorry 'bout that.
Cheers♥
