So today was mall day (I also just realized that I begin almost every post with "So". Hmm...). We left at 8:30 (yes, AM) and it was a 2 1/2 hour drive down there. It wasn't too bad because my brother and his two friends were so excited, they just talked the whole time, which kept my brother from fighting with my sisters, so everyone was happy on the way down. After thinking we were lost, then finding out we were on the right road, we got there. It was a pretty big mall. "Pretty big" meaning that it takes two separate buildings, each 3 times the size of a normal mall, to contain all mall-worthy stores and items. Unfortunately, that meant a lot of walking.
A LOT of walking.
Personally, as far as clothes shopping went, the stores there that are in our local mall were probably better than these ones, just because we have better "clearanced" sections :) But they had a couple stores I'd never been in before. Delia's, Forever 21 (which is actually amazing, contrary to what some people may think)... that's all that's coming to mind...
Oh, and there was a Gucci and a Rolex store. There was this whole section of mall that seemed to be reserved for those people with a not-so-average amount of dolares in their bank account, and it was fantastic. I was going to take a picture of myself in front of Gucci, but didn't get there during our busy time, sadly. I mean, through this part of the mall, they were actually playing classical music and had creepy Men in Black dudes walking around. My sister and I actually stalked one of these guys. It was so weird, and yet so exhilarating* at the same time. If you ever see a wannabe FBI agent walking around your mall, stalking can be an excellent source of amusement.
Another amazing part of this trip? Chik-fil-a. I went to my first one back in July, and found the reason for their awesomeness**. So when I noticed a man walking around with a Chik-Fil-A cup (and nearly pinned him down to force the location of this Chik-Fil-A out of him), I HAD to find out where this place was. It happened to be right down the other aisle of the mall.
I had Chik-Fil-A for lunch. And it was awesome.
Almost better than that: my sister got a Veggietales CD with her Chik-Fil-A meal and we listened to it on the way home. The end happened to have several Silly Songs on it. It was car ride heaven for me. I happen to have an obsession with Veggietales Silly Songs, and singing I Love My Lips, SUV, and that Monkey/Ape/Tail song on the way home completed my day.
And as a double score, I got 4 adorable hair accessories for $3 at Charlotte Russe. Quadruple score!
The only bad part of this mall experience was walking from mall #1 to mall #2 (a 5-10 minute walk) to meet up with my mom, having to walk back for something she wanted, reaching mall #1, realizing my brother's friend left his coat in mall #2, walking with his other friend back over to mall #2 to find the coat, and then returning to mall #1. That was exhausting.
Cheers♥
* it took me 13 tries to spell this word right.
** awesomeness IS a real word? heck yea!
In honor of my Silly Song obsession, some of my faves:
My all-time favorite. I know every single word :)
I was obsessed when this first came out.
I try to sing it, but I always get choked up when Bill admits he can't dance... *sniffle*
I can sing it up until the point where Larry gets his lips stuck in a gate and has to call the fire department.
My grandma used to sing this song all the time when I was little :p
I was rocking out to this in the car today.
At one point in my life, I was able to get through the adjectives. All of them.
Oh my gosh. I'm an ape.
I had to throw in this classic.
