Saturday: Day Four

Ahhh!! The last day! It's horribly sad, but probably one of the best days I was there.
We started the day off a little late but got there in time for Jason Ostrander sermon, which was really good.
Then Carlos Whitaker performed. He has some good worship songs.
We then went around to complete a little scavenger hunt that had been set up while Myesha Chaney performed. She sounded a bit like Mandisa.
Then Lakita Garth spoke. She had a really good talk about sex, love and relationships.
And then, a girl who I've been following for a while on Youtube and who recently signed with Gotee Records, performed: Jamie Grace! I was really because I was a fan of hers when she only had a few hundred subscribers. Her parents were even in the audience taking pictures and stuff, haha. And for her song "Hold Me", she said how normally TobyMac is in it, but hopefully we wouldn't mind him not being there... well what do ya know, into the second verse we go and who shows up? TobyMac! I was extremely excited because I was right up front! He's awesome.
Then another cool guy performed: Shonlock and the Monsta band. They were extremely energetic, and I'm pretty sure Shonlock could not stop smiling the whole performance... it made me smile :) I have a cool story about him coming up...
Then lovely Mr. Chris August performed. Later my friend got his CD, had him sign it, and got a picture with him.
We then caught a few minutes of Reid Saunders speech, but went back to the campsite to get stuff... and on our way back... it started pouring. And I'm not talking just a little drizzle. I mean at an inch in about 15 minutes. It was crazy. My sister had an umbrella so she stayed dry, but Marissa and I got soaked. And when we got back, there actually people using their tarps as slip n slides, and there were chairs with huge puddles of water in them. There was always a bit of a lake on the stage as you can probably see below.
Still, everything was cleaned up pretty quickly and Brandon Heath performed. My mom later got his CD and had him sign it. He seems like a really chill guy.
Then there was some more Carlos Whitaker, Tony Nolan spoke (AMAINGNESS), and then....
Owl City!!
Actually, I'm not a huge Owl City fan, but it was fun. Some people in the front started a little dance (more on that later). It seems like the main guy (I forget his name... Adam something?) needs to be a music conductor or something, rather than a performer. It was more of a music thing rather than singing and a performance. He singed to almost me literally moved by the music. It was kinda funny actually to watch him dance around like he couldn't stop.
And the final performance of Creation 2011?
TobyMac!!!
They were really awesome. Sadly, my camera died about 20 minutes into the performance, so I didn't get many pictures of him. Somehow it came back for about five fireworks though.
And the fireworks to end it all! They were really amazing! I've seen many a fireworks show in my life, and so far, Creation's show has topped them all.
So, now for the good stuff. Marissa and I decided to volunteer to help tear down after the fireworks. We had signed up earlier that day. So we make our way over and there aren't too many people there. We're told that there aren't any jobs at the moment and to just hang out. This happened last year when after about 45 minutes we were given a job. This did not happen this year. After maybe a half hour, we were getting bored. The people in charge came out to the group of us waiting and we played a game: red light green. Of all the games in the world, that's what we played. It didn't work out so well (although I did win one game. Yay me!). During like the fifth game, guess who showed up?
  Shonlock!!!
Apparently he and his band were waiting and couldn't leave at the time for some unknown reason, so they came to chill out with us for a few minutes! A couple people had him sign a CD and get a picture, but most of us just talked with him. I got to high-five him (oh yes.), and he stayed for a few minutes just talking with us. His band was there too just sort of hanging out. It was cool.
So after a few minutes, Shonlock and his band left to go crash some campsites, and red light green light got a bit boring, so everyone just sat down. Riss and I were keeping to ourselves for a little while, but we were invited into the circle of the unknown, and we all started talking with each other. I must say, some of those guys were HILARIOUS. And not just "chuckle chuckle" but like, I had a hard time keeping quiet. And then some other random kid came by and started talking like some Southpark character (no, I DO NOT watch that show... I just happen to know what the characters sound like...) and he and some other kid in our circle were having some weird verbal battle. It was funny.
And after about an hour or so, half the kids in our circle got sent to go work somewhere. The rest of us were left for another hour until a lady gave us a job to pick up some trash in a building. That took a whole ten minutes and then we were back to our little circle, sitting around. And we just talked. Nothing amazing, but we just hung out for two more hours. And honestly, it was fun. I made some new friends, and we had some pretty funny conversations. We went over to the "food tent" later and ate some yummy stuff, and then just hung out. It sounds boring, and some of it was, but it was fun getting to know some new kids.
I happened to befriend one awesome guy, Riley, who's from Tennessee, and we're still talking with each other. I in fact have a grape Jolly Rancher in a Ziploc baggy wrapped in athletic tap addressed to him, in my freezer. I intend to give it to him next year at Creation 2012. And, I in fact inspired him to create a blog on here (I should get an award for getting a guy to make a blog. Who wants to have the honor of awarding me? ;). I'm also now Facebook friends with some other people in our little circle of friends (INCLUDING Shonlock. Oh yes. We be tight.). And for my wonderful volunteer work that night, I was given a Jaymes Reunion CD. I worked very hard and so deserved it (please note the sarcasm. Sarcasm doesn't always travel so well across the computer world.).
And we ended up not getting back till five something, so we didn't sleep. We packed up and traveled four hours back to our homes, napping and listening to our new CDs on the way back.
So that was my trip to Creation 2011!! Maybe not so interesting to you reading, but it was to me! I do have TONS more to blog about, but I needed to finish my Creation posts first. Tomorrow, I'll be back on top of my every day happenings, which we all know are SO exciting (more sarcasm there).
Cheers♥
P.S. My new Tennessean friend Riley's blog is here! I know he'd love it if you'd check him out! Erm.. his blog out.. check his blog out.. yea.. ;)

  1. Wow that's so awesome!!! Right now where I live, everyone is at an event called Lifest! It's pretty much the same thing as Creation Fest only it's only in Wisconsin!
